The CoastMS hosting platform was originally created to supplement our network management, consulting, and other computer services.

CoastMS Hosting is based on Windows 2003 Server, runs on Pentium IV 3GHz server. Our goal is to build the best possible hosting platform for website clients and webmasters. Our datacenter has a peak network capacity of 650Mbits per second, so your sites will load quickly. We monitor every server 24 hours a day to make sure everything is online and working properly. The average uptime for web sites hosted at CoastMS is 99.99%.

Key features of the CoastMS hosting platform:

Windows 2003 Server – Microsoft’s latest and greatest server operating system. Offers double and even triple the performance of Windows 2000 and Windows NT. We’ve conducted our own internal testing to verify this performance claim. On the same hardware, Windows 2003 consistently showed more than double the performance of Windows 2000 in all of our tests.

Domains hosted by CoastMS can contain as many POP3 accounts as needed. These POP3 accounts can be checked using any popular email client, such as MS Outlook or Eudora. CoastMS also provides a web based email client that can be used to check mailboxes from any web browser.

CoastMS scans all inbound and outbound email using ClamAV. We also filterall inbound email using SpamAssassin to reduce the amount of junk email you receive. The aggressiveness of the SA filter can be set at a different level for each mailbox, since we realize some mailboxes will not want as much email to get filtered as others. Antivirus and antispam filtering is done at no extra charge.

IIS6 – Microsoft’s latest web server. Supports worker process isolation, which offers huge security and reliability improvements over IIS4/IIS5.

Worker Process Isolation – Every website runs as its own worker process, and every worker process runs as its own NT user. This offers the best security possible, and CoastMS is the only web hosting company currently offering this much security.

ASP.NET – ASP.NET is currently the fastest and most reliable application hosting technology available. All .aspx pages are processed as ASP.NET.

ASP4 – ASP4 is an improved version of ASP3. All .asp pages are processed as ASP4.

SQL Server 2000 – Microsoft’s latest database server is robust and fast.

Pentium IV 3GHz Servers – Intel’s latest CPU is the Pentium IV 3GHz. It supports hyper threading, which dramatically improves server performance. All of our new servers have at least 1GB of RAM.

Subdelegation Support – Clients can manage websites, email accounts, and SQL databases using ftp, SQL Server Enterprise Manager, and the all new Control Panel.

Instantly Live Support – When you create a website with the new web control panel, the website is live within 15 seconds! There is no longer a need to wait 24 hours to use the new website. Note: There is still an unavoidable delay associated with DNS registrations and updates, but developers can get around the DNS delay using a local HOSTS file.

Microsoft SQL Server 2000 - You can set up as many SQL databases as you need using the CoastMS Web Control Panel. You can manage these databases using SQL Server Enterprise Manager or WebSQL Console.

WebSQL Console is a web based management tool that runs in a web browser and offers much of the same functionality as SQL Server Enterprise Manager.

FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions - are supported in all CoastMS accounts at no extra charge. You can quickly and easily enable or disable the FrontPage Server Extensions on any website at any time using the CoastMS Web Control Panel.

PHP 4.3.2 is supported. All .php pages are processed as PHP.

ActivePerl 5.8.0 build 806 is supported. All .pl and .cgi pages are processed as Perl.

Technical Support - Support is provided locally to the South Mississippi area. You are provided a service request outlook email template to insure a fast response to your questions and requests. Email questions are preferred however, phone calls are welcomed and onsite orientation is available. We provide a wealth of information that addresses various aspects of CoastMS hosting and general internet and computer use in our knowledge base.

Location - Although our hosting service is supported and managed locally on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, the servers are located on the backbone of the internet to insure the best connection and speed communicating throughout the world.
